A new research project by the KG BauKo Institute
In the summer semester of 2025, the Institute for Structural Design and Building Construction (KGBauko), in close cooperation with Sika Germany, the Riedel Bau Group, and Staikos 3D, launched a groundbreaking project in the field of 3D concrete printing (3DCP). The aim is to develop and realize a topology-optimized concrete ceiling with a span of 5 x 5 meters and a large cantilever, whose formwork is manufactured entirely using 3D printing.

The three-week city cycling period in Darmstadt starts again next Sunday in the past years we have always easily managed to be the most active department at the TU (2023: 10000km, 2024: 7000km). It would be a laugh if we didn't manage that again this year!

Formnext fair in Frankfurt on November 19th, 2025
At its annual symposium, the BE-AM network gathers professionals in 3D printing and additive manufacturing from architecture, engineering, industry, design and academia. For the past years, BE-AM grew to be a vivid platform to disseminate cutting edge technology, design and ideas to a broad, international audience. Once again, the Digital Design Unit & the Institute of Structural Mechanics and Design from the Technical University of Darmstadt are happy to gather experts from these fields to the Formnext fair in Frankfurt on November 19th, 2025. .
