Media review: Shatterproof glass
2025/02/06
Interview with Matthias Seel in Einfach genial > A program from mdr
After the introduction of the market economy in East Germany – an economy that thrives on wear and tear and consumption – production was discontinued. It was also time-consuming and expensive. The improved process from Freiberg combines the old chemical process with another hardening process. According to Martin Groß, this gives the treated glass four times the strength of conventional glass. Jacob Herenz, content creator and budding glassmaker, and engineer Matthias Seel from TU Darmstadt are testing the potential of this process and whether it can survive on the market in the future.

Chile Excursion 2025
2025/01/13
September and October 2025
ISM+D is planning a two-week excursion to Chile in late September and early October 2025. Located in the far southwest of South America, Chile is known for its breathtaking landscapes and high mountain peaks, as well as its variety of natural features, ranging from the driest desert in the world to rainforests and glaciers. This unique area also poses challenges for the AEC industry, as it is often confronted with extreme natural events such as earthquakes, floods and forest fires, which are becoming more frequent due to climate change.
