Darmstadt has recently dropped out of the top ten, if not the top 20, in various rankings, whether in terms of dynamism, digitalization or car sharing. This assessment by IHK President and Volksbank CEO Matthias Martiné therefore sounds encouraging: “The region is one of the most dynamic locations and has attracted many new people and companies,” he says at the Heuer Real Estate Dialogue, a meeting of representatives from business, science and politics. Only Leipzig has grown more than Darmstadt.

The Technical University of Darmstadt welcomes Dr.-Ing. Anna Trauth as a new professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The 36-year-old scientist is taking up a professorship in the field of materials mechanics and brings with her extensive expertise in the characterization and modelling of the damage and fatigue behaviour of materials. Her focus is particularly on composite materials and material composites in order to develop models that make structures, components and systems safer and more sustainable.

The tutorial is organized by the KG BauKo Institute. The topic of the event is the recording and calculation of energy-efficient buildings. It will be held by Hottgenroth on 17.12.2024 at 10:00 am. The tutorial is primarily aimed at students of the Green Building Design I module, but is open to all interested students who are enthusiastic about this topic.

TU Darmstadt honors outstanding best practice models: Dr. Beer is among them! A contribution from TU Darmstadt
The “Athena Prizes for Good Teaching” were awarded at the TU on Wednesday (20th). Since 2010, the Carlo and Karin Giersch Foundation has been awarding these prizes to individuals, groups or organizational units that have introduced exemplary and outstanding formats into academic teaching. The prizes are endowed with a total of 46,000 euros. The award ceremony takes place following the annual “Teaching Day”.

Solid Monday: a web seminar on 25.11.2024 about ZOOM with Prof Koenders
The fifth “solid Monday” will take place on 25.11.2024 from 16:30 to 17:30 as part of the knowledge platform “Klimaneutral Massiv Bauen@skills.BW”. The digital live format will focus on innovative approaches to solid construction and their contribution to climate neutrality. At “solid Monday” on November 25, Prof. Eddie Koenders, Professor at the Institute for Materials in Civil Engineering at TU Darmstadt, will give an insight into the research and application areas of CO2-neutral concrete.
