The “Constructive Design” project was recently honored with an award from the Lightweight Construction Association at the University of Stuttgart. The award ceremony took place on March 5 at the Institute for Lightweight Design and Construction (ILEK) at the University of Stuttgart. The event was held in Frei Otto's tent structure. The following students from TU Darmstadt were involved in the award-winning project: Alessandro Garruto, Ahmet-Münir Telci, Max Rösner, and Summer Wazy.

The project focuses on the development of a new generation of concrete ceilings. At its heart is an innovative approach in which the structures are topology-optimized, designed to conserve resources, and manufactured entirely using 3D printing. The aim is to use materials more efficiently while opening up new design possibilities in the field of digital construction.
