Virtual 360° tour for student orientation

Would you like to try out what it's like to study civil engineering or environmental engineering? Join Mia for a day and explore our university virtually. In two 360° games, you will attend a lecture and solve tasks that we also deal with in everyday life. And you can take a look around our research halls.

Our degree programmes are one thing above all: diverse. And our faculty is large: it comprises 24 departments and institutes that deal with a wide variety of topics. From VR-supported serious games to printed steel or ecological concrete, the treatment of our wastewater, environmental analyses and completely new materials and methods for construction… and, as in our two 360° games, questions of statics or the protection of our fish in the rivers.

So have fun trying them out!

360° tour: First aid for the travelling fish

360° tour: First aid for the travelling fish

Did you know that our rivers are interrupted on average every 580 metres? Weirs, turbines and other structures prevent our fish from finding their spawning habitats unhindered and thus ensuring their survival. What can be done? Engineers have developed so-called fish ladders. They look like steps in the water – you may have seen them before.

How do they work? You can find out here. And you can get an idea of our research and a model in our hydraulic engineering research laboratory, where such a fish ladder is being built and tested. Using real fish that we borrow from the rivers (and look after well).

360° tour: Which bridge is the right one?

Imagine it: A 350 metre long bridge has collapsed in Norway. A replacement bridge must now be planned quickly. But what do you have to consider? What are the requirements for such a bridge? And which models are suitable?

In this game, you decide and set the course. Take a look around our hall of structural engineering and discover that there are some surprising materials that are being researched and used for construction.

Let's go!
