As Dean of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Sciences I welcome you cordially to our web pages.
Our faculty arose as one of the founding disciplines of the TH (Technische Hochschule) Darmstadt at the end of the 19th century. Our topics and activities in the fields of construction, environment and geodesy continue to shape the engineering sciences at the TU Darmstadt and beyond.
Our network with several universities and research institutes in Germany, Europe and worldwide ensures innovative academic achievements and teaching that is always up to date. Numerous existing cooperations with planning offices, industry and specialized authorities bring our research results into practice in a targeted manner and help to drive progress in one of the most potent metropolitan regions in Europe.
Based on our mission statement our faculty focuses on engineering solutions for the built environment in the earth system. The actuality of many of our topics is given by climate change, the energy turnaround, environmental policy requirements for environmental protection and sustainability as well as due to the rapid development of new materials and manufacturing processes in the construction industry – our graduates are in high demand by the practice.
