Onshore plant in Emden – Excursion to Hitachi
For students of faculties 13, 16 and 18

Dear students, our next really extraordinary excursion will take us to an onshore plant of Hitachi Energy in Emden! – Would you like to join us? The onshore plant has already been completed but is not yet in operation – a unique opportunity to get to know Hitachi's large-scale HVDC project DolWin5 up close!
Schedule of the excursion:
- 03.06.2025: Arrival in Emden and dinner together with a team of 25 engineers from Hitachi
- 04.06.2025: Excursion day to the onshore plant
o Morning: Technical introduction
o Afternoon: Guided tour of the plant
- 05.06.2025: Return journey to Darmstadt
Arrival and departure by train.
This excursion not only offers exciting technical insights, but also the opportunity to talk directly to Hitachi engineers and employees – an excellent networking opportunity!
Notes:
- A deposit of approx. 100 € will be charged.
- A possible personal contribution of a maximum of €50 is currently still being clarified.
- Participation open to the faculties: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Target group: Primarily Master's students, particularly interested Bachelor's students are also welcome.
- Maximum number of participants: 14 persons
- S3 safety shoes + a helmet are required – if you have your own, ideal; if not, we will do our best to help you get them!
