KlarText Prize for TU researcher Katharina Bensing

Dr.-Ing. Katharina Bensing from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at TU Darmstadt has been awarded the KlarText Prize for Science Communication by the Klaus Tschira Foundation.
The researcher from the Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Hydraulics received the prize for the best infographic. In it, Bensing describes the challenges that fish face on their migrations and how they use the smallest current fluctuations for orientation.
Since 1997, the foundation has been awarding the KlarText Prize to young researchers' answers to the question “What did you actually do in your doctoral thesis?”. This year, seven self-written articles and an infographic were awarded. The prizes, each worth 7,500 euros, will be awarded on November 13, 2025 in Heidelberg. The Klaus Tschira Foundation promotes science, mathematics and computer science and aims to contribute to the appreciation of these subjects. It was established in 1995 by the physicist and SAP co-founder Klaus Tschira (1940-2015) with private funds.
