As part of the AI Camp at TU Darmstadt, discussions centered around the future of higher education in the age of artificial intelligence. The event provided a vibrant platform for academic exchange, bringing together diverse disciplinary perspectives to explore both the opportunities and challenges posed by AI in teaching and learning.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dorota Iwaszczuk represented Department 13 (Civil and Environmental Engineering) and actively contributed to the workshop “AI Competencies: How do we integrate them into teaching and examinations?”. She shared a practical example from the field of remote sensing, illustrating how AI-driven methods are already integrated in teaching remote sensing and geospatial science. The workshop highlighted the importance of not only teaching technical AI skills, but also embedding them critically and reflectively within disciplinary cultures and assessment formats.
