Girls' Day

On Girls' Day, schoolgirls from the 5th grade onwards are given the opportunity to gain insights into occupational fields that are traditionally regarded and considered more as potential career directions for men. In the meantime, many technical companies, departments, universities, research centers, colleges, etc. participate in this event throughout Germany and hopefully prepare an extraordinary day for the schoolgirls.

The TU Darmstadt also participates in Girls' Day and the Department 13 of the TU Darmstadt also presents itself on this day.

In addition to lectures on the study opportunities of our department (Civil Engineering & Geodesy and Environmental Engineering), there will be competitions and/or guided tours through the research laboratories for the participants.

General information about Girls' Day can be found at the

Student for 1 day

“Studi für 1 Tag” is an offer for students who are interested in STEM studies (STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).

Through the exchange with students, you will be supported in the transition from school to university and get a closer look at possible courses of study and everything you need to know about studying (study organization, preparation for studying, everyday study, financing), so that you are best prepared for your studies.

TUDay

TUDay is the TU Darmstadt's big open day. It allows prospective students to gain an insight into various study programs at the university. Each department presents itself by giving informative lectures. The topics are, for example, 'What do you learn during your studies as a civil or environmental engineer?', or 'What knowledge is required for the studies? There will also be guided tours of research laboratories and the university campus, as well as presentations of department-specific courses. Of course, you can also talk to professors and students who can tell you about their everyday life at the university. Every year, a total of about 700 prospective students take part in the various programs offered by the TU Darmstadt.

Would you like to find out more about the courses on offer at the TU Darmstadt? Then the next TUDay is the right place for you!

Orientation week

The Orientation Week, OWO for short, takes place every year for all first-year students of Department 13 in the week before the start of the lecture period. The student council of Department 13 is responsible for planning this four-day event. You will be shown the campus in small groups, the study contents will be presented and you will exclusively receive an introductory help with the registration of all modules. In addition to the organizational part, the OWO offers the opportunity to meet friends for life and also facilitates the start of studies through the good mood and the nice atmosphere.

More information about the OWO can be found on the website of the student council
