Our Responsibilites
Our responsibilities include representing the interests of women across all status groups within the department – this includes administrative and technical staff, academic staff, students, and professors. We provide advice to the department on personnel matters, particularly through our involvement in appointment procedures. In addition, we coordinate the allocation of funds dedicated to the promotion of women and are committed to ensuring their effective use.
Another key aspect of our work is the organization and implementation of events aimed at promoting women. These include discussion groups, workshops, and seminars that create space for exchange, professional development, and networking. We also participate in departmental council meetings, share information about training and educational opportunities, and support the Gender Equality Officer of TU Darmstadt in her work. Furthermore, we actively contribute to the Gender Equality Advisory Board to help strengthen gender equality within the department in the long term.
Our Goals
One of our main goals is to reduce the underrepresentation of women in the academic environment. At Department 13, this is particularly evident in full-time positions, permanent contracts, and professorships, where women remain significantly underrepresented. We are therefore committed to addressing and reducing the structural disadvantages that women face in employment, research, and teaching. Our efforts aim to create equal opportunities and conditions for all genders, contributing to a fairer and more diverse academic culture.
Gender Equality Concept
The objectives of our work are set out in the equality concept. This is regularly adapted to current circumstances and challenges.
