Project content Within the framework of the joint project “Wastewater treatment plant of the future: energy storage in the interaction with technical infrastructure in the tension field of energy generation and consumption (ESiTI)”, research is conducted into the flexibilization of the energy flows in a sewage treatment plant under consideration of technical, ecological, economic and societal aspects. The goal is to develop a planning tool to create flexible energy flows in a sewage treatment plant in the interaction with infrastructure facilities. Hereby, one important technical element is sewage sludge treatment to provide energy consumption, storage and generation.
