Project content The overall goal of the present collaborative project is the conceptualization, research, and development of exterior wall systems made of paper, suitable for use as exterior walls for 1-3-story buildings. This overarching goal is intended to be achieved through a sustainable layer structure with functional layers made of paper. In addition to the connection technology between the layers, the connection technology between individual exterior wall panels will also be researched and developed, and a system catalog for structural integration will be created. Particularly important are the conceptualization and implementation of a fire and moisture protection concept. The project includes a conceptual and planning phase, the production of samples at small and full scale, as well as the performance of building physics, structural, and mechanical tests. The construction of a wall system will be done with the help of prototypes, and an active and passive fire protection concept will be tested. At the end of the project, implementation concepts for scaling up production will be developed, and a functional wall system will be available.
